Dear Parents and Carers
Now that Topcliffe is at the centre of the Community Education Partnership, it continues to flourish and successfully develop ever-stronger partnerships with other schools, educational institutions and establishments.
The strong ethos of the school has always been to inspire and foster academic excellence alongside intellectual, social and emotional development through a range of quality experiences, activities and pastoral support.
So after six immensely enjoyable years at the school I will be embarking on a new role to support the Community Education Partnership in maintaining this vision, not only at Topcliffe but also at other schools within the trust.
From the beginning of February 2017, I will be moving away from the Headship of Topcliffe to support the evolution of safeguarding across the trust. I will also be supporting educational development within the trust and beyond when I take up a consultancy position with a leading educational company.
It has been a huge pleasure to have been the Head teacher at Topcliffe, and I feel fortunate to have worked with a truly inspirational team of staff, who, every day, continue to show such high levels of dedication to the education of all your children.
As I move on into this new exciting chapter of work within education and the Community Education Partnership, Mr Slattery, supported by Miss Taylor will take on the leadership of the school. They are both highly skilled and knowledgeable leaders and will greatly benefit from the continued support of the Topcliffe School community.
I would finally like to take this opportunity to thank children, staff, parents and Governors wholeheartedly for their continuous support, commitment and friendship throughout my time at Topcliffe. It has been an utter privilege to have been the custodian of Topcliffe Primary and to have shared part of the journey with you.
I wish you all the very best for the future and will be keeping a proud and invested eye on the future successes of the school.
Mr D Taylor
